For their FW17 collection, Blood Brother took the River Thames as their inspiration.
Blood Brother have looked into the more abstract quirks that the River Thames has to offer, asking the question: Why does The River Thames seem to reflect London and its heritage so well?
While the River Thames is the pivotal reference point for the FW17 collection, Blood Brother have also linked to the iconic London buildings that share the river’s bank and the subcultures of the various people who were dependent on the river for their survival, such as mud larkers and ferrymen that made their living from its waters.
This season Blood Brother continues the use of prints, referencing the mapping and cartography of the river. This is showcased throughout the collection and bought to life using detailed embroidery over various materials such as silks, sweats and tailoring pieces executed in the brands key seasonal shapes.
Blood Brother has continued to re-imagine tailoring once again within the FW17 collection. Jumbo cord features within the more casual pieces alongside waxed cotton, combined with strapping and pocket details to give a distinctly water proofed utilitarian look. While Blood Brother’s signature oversized coats and bombers give the collection its distinct classic appearance.
