The British Embassy in Israel is flying the gay pride flag to celebrate gay pride today (13 June).

On their official Facebook page, The British Embassy in Israel shared a photo of a rainbow flag flying proudly outside their Tel Aviv headquarters.

‘We are proud that the rainbow flag is flying from the British Embassy, in celebration of the Tel Aviv Pride Parade. #tlv #Gaypride #TelAviv,’ read their post.

In addition, they also changed their cover photo to a picture of the British flag in rainbow colours.

Today (13 June) marks the biggest day of Tel Aviv’s gay pride celebrations. Pride Week started on 8 June and today is one of the biggest days of celebrating before the festivities come to an end tomorrow.

The British Embassy seems to be following suit of the US who also raised the gay pride flag at their Embassy headquarters in Tel Aviv (10 June).

They posted a picture on their Facebook page with the caption: ‘Proudly flying the colors!’

‘For the first time in history, the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv has raised the Pride flag together with our American flag. We are proud to join with the municipality of Tel Aviv-Yafo and its residents in celebrating LGBT Pride Week,’ read the statement on their page.

Furthermore, Tel Aviv’s town hall was lit up in rainbow colors to mark gay pride celebrations in the city (10 June).
