Britain's Got Talent judge David Walliams continues bromance with Simon Cowell after showering praise on gay semi-finalists The Sugar Dandies
Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams is not afraid of rumors about his sexuality after flirting with music mogul Simon Cowell and joking he is a ‘gay man in a gay man’s body’.
The comedian made the gag during the TV talent show’s semi-finals yesterday (9 May) after praising a performance by camp ballroom dance act The Sugar Dandies.
He told the gay couple, Bradley and Soren, that they reminded him of ‘me and my Simon when we first met.’
Co-judge Amanda Holden also expressed her love for the act and said: ‘I am a gay man in a straight woman’s body.’
To which Walliams replied, ‘I am a gay man in a gay man’s body.’
The phrase ‘My Simon’ immediately began trending on Twitter, with followers tweeting their love for the pair’s ongoing bromance.
Despite Holden and Walliams’s praise, The Sugar Dandies were eliminated from the Britain’s Got Talent competition.
Walliams has been dogged by gay rumors in the past, despite marrying Dutch model Lara Stone in London in May 2010.
The Daily Mail reported that the confusion over Walliams’s sexuality arose because he took his friend James to a Paul McCartney gig instead of his wife, provoking the ex-Beatle to joke that the pair were a couple.
And in March 2012, Walliams made headlines for ribbing Cowell about his sexuality on The Jonathan Ross Show, speculating as to whether The X Factor creator is gay.
