Don’t be a dr.a.g. Just be a queen

Book offers readers foray into the extravagent world of the US drag scene

Don’t be a dr.a.g. Just be a queen
16 August 2012

Certain to dazzle the dreariest of coffee tables and spark conversation amongst the driest of company, this over-exuberant, glossy coffee table book is jam-packed with panache – the perfect addition alongside a tall caramel macchiato.

Drawing its title from the earliest days of theatre, dr.a.g (an acronym for dressed as girl), this extravagant publication charts some of the biggest names in the scene to date.

Gracing the line-up on the 160 high-gloss pages from the New York drag scene are the likes of Lady Bunny, Joey Arias, Sherry Vine, Hedda Lettuce and Charles Busch, who are joined by Frank Marino, Eddie Edwards and Mr Kenneth Blake from the Vegas Strip.

There are also appearances from the cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race as well as Jackie Beat, Miss Coco Peru, Jimmy James and legendary drag icon Jim Bailey.

Compiling this fabulous collection of portraits is Tron Legacy actor Christopher Logan, featuring the photographic work of professional snappers Austin Young, Magnus Hastings, Mike Ruiz, Peter Palladino and Jose A Guzman Colon amongst others.

Proceeds from the publication are to be used to help support independent film production.

dr.a.g. is available now from all good retailers.
