Evander Holyfield evicted from Big Brother after saying 'gays ain't normal'

Former boxing champ was warned for saying being gay was a 'choice' and could be 'fixed'
Evander Hoclyfield compared gay people to being disabled, and he's now left Celebrity Big Brother.

Evander Holyfield has become the first person to be evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house tonight (10 January).

After his homophobic comments, the former boxing champ was the one chosen to leave the British reality show by singer Lee Ryan and model Casey Batchelor over Apprentice star Luisa Zissman. Crowds cheered as he left the house.

Housemates had previously been under the impression that the Blue singer and the model had left the show, after they took part in a fake eviction two days ago. The two then rejoined the show.

The former heavyweight champion was heavily criticized after describing homosexuality as a ‘choice’. He also compared it to a disability – saying it could be ‘fixed’.

Holyfield was warned by the British reality show bosses a day after the conversation, asked whether he understood why his comments could be seen as offensive.

In response, the athlete said: ‘Yes I understand why. I thought I was just, I forgot about the thing.'
