Tired of fighting the gay marriage fight? Turn your civil rights into cash…fast!
In the United States, Cash 4 Gold’s adverts have inspired many people to create their own parody but this is definitely our favorite.
Written and produced by Kate Lambert, Get Cash 4 Rights asks customers to send in their civil liberties in a sealed marked envelope and in return they can have the cash to buy, for example, the cat of their dreams.
One satisfied customer says: ‘As a lesbian, I had fought for my right to marry. Then some woman at a rally yelled something at me that really opened my eyes.
‘She said if I was able to marry another woman, then she might as well marry a llama.
‘And then I realized, she was right. Me marrying my partner of eight years was the exact same thing as her marrying a Peruvian farm animal.
‘So I went home, and I signed up for Get Cash 4 Rights!’
