The National Diversity Awards, sponsored by Microsoft, rewards all aspects of diversity within one ceremony including age, disability, gender, race and LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender). It is designed to promote ‘unity in society’.

TV personality Brian Dowling presented the prestigious black tie event in the Manchester, north-west England on Friday 21 September.

Speaking afterwards, Tris said: ‘This is really a shared award for the whole GSN team, our clients who have supported us so brilliantly and our amazing readers who continue to help us improve and build, thanks to their enthusiasm and feedback.

‘I promise to work five times harder to be worthy of this award, which saw me up against some very strong competition and honoured alongside so many true heroes.’

To support Tris Reid-Smith’s nomination, we produced this short video to illustrate his positive contribution to the media industry.

Special thanks to Jurys Inn Manchester for hosting GSN.
