Gay Star News ducks make a splash with Out to Swim

So we went with a quack, and a waddle and a quack off to see LGBT team Out to Swim’s summer party

Swimmers went quackers for the new Gay Star News branded rubber ducks as we headed off to the Out to Swim annual summer party.

The event on Sunday (10 June) in Brockwell Lido pool, south London was the first outing for the newly hatched GSN ducks and we couldn’t wait to waddle off their and get their feet wet.

Sadly there was steady drizzle as the Angels, Out to Swim’s synchronized swimming team, did a demo to prove they were beautiful swans, rather than ugly ducklings. But for a British swim team that, of course, was water off a duck’s back.

And straight after, we got revelers to duck their heads beneath the waves to grab a GSN duck.

Two winners pulled out a lucky duck and got £50 ($78 €62) goodie bags from Schwarzkopf’s Got2Be luxurious hair products  while a third got a meal for two at the stylish Ora Thai Cuisine restaurant in Soho, London’s gay district.

For the rest, there was the compensation prize of a limited edition Gay Star News duck to keep them company while they preen their feathers in the bath at home.

Soon, the whole party was squeaking our ducks and planning to dabble their feet in the web and check out, some for the first time.

That’s 12 duck puns so far, so we’ll stop trying to quack you up with our yolks now.

Check out more pictures from the party on our Gay Star News Facebook page. Find out more about Out to Swim here.
