Thor wrapping his big strong arms and hammer around a man?

That’s the image on an unauthorized poster accidentally used at a Shanghai theater advertising this week’s release of Thor: The Dark World.

Fans of the franchise knew something was amiss at first glance.

The superhero, played by Chris Hemsworth, would certainly never be so physically affectionate with his villainous brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and their cuddle in the poster is more than brotherly.

The doctored photo is from an image in which Thor is seen protecting scientist Jane Foster played by Natalie Portman.

bbqfish2012, who designed the image, wrote on her Weibo: ‘Damn it! If I were paid 1 yuan each time the photo is retweeted, I would be rich.’

The film opens this weekend. The first Thor movie was released in 2011 and grossed more than $449 million worldwide. Hemsworth also played the role in 2012’s The Avengers.
