Get your kilt on for Edinburgh’s gay pride
29 June 2012

Get your kilt on, Edinburgh and the south east of Scotland is ready to celebrate Scotia Pride tomorrow (30 June).

The event offers a march and party, hosted by Kieron Richardson, star of TV shows Hollyoaks and Dancing on Ice.

The setting for the march is one of the most stunning for any Pride. It will kick off at 1pm with a colorful procession which promises to be a fun street party through the beautiful Royal Mile where it will be joined by floats past the Scottish Parliament and Holyrood Palace before passing a number of popular LGBT venues and finishing up at the Omni Centre.

The march will then arrive at 2pm at the centre where a health and community fair will be held alongside a main stage.

Richardson along with numerous acts will be gracing the stage to entertain the crowds.

The Order of Perpetual Indulgence, a secular group of drag nuns, will be hosting a tea dance in Edinburgh nightclub Mood from 2pm to 5pm with free tea, cake and sandwiches ideal for those who enjoy music of the 20s and 30s.

Celebrations already start tonight with the pre-pride ceilidh dance. Dress to impress in your kilt, finest frock or just a touch of tartan and take to the floor for traditional dances like the Gay Gordons or Strip The Willow. The pre-pride Highland Fling starts at 9.30pm tonight (29 June) at The Three Sisters, 139 Cowgate, Edinburgh.

You can always later hop to GHQ, from the 10.30 till 3am the Energy Bears promise to entertain you along with DJ Robb White and DJ JT.
