Rumors that One Direction’s Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson are having a gay affair is reportedly affecting their friendship in the band.

Louis told MTV News that although it was funny at first, speculation about whether he was sleeping with his bandmate are now ‘hard to deal with’ because he is now in a relationship with student Eleanor Calder.

He also said it was having a knock-on effect on how he acts around Harry when in public.

The 20-year-old Brit said: ‘Me and Harry are best friends, people look into our every move. It is actually affecting the way me and Harry are in public.

‘We want to joke around but there seems to be a different rumor every time we do anything.’

Louis added: ‘I act the same way with Harry as I do any of the other boys and my childhood friend Stan.’

One Direction, which also includes Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik, continued to be dogged by gay rumors despite crossing the pond to the US recently.

During the UK boyband’s tour stop in Texas, Harry and Niall were filmed apparently nearly locking lips, leaving many fans wondering whether the camera cuts away just before a kiss or just an innocent whisper.

Zayn is also seen affectionately touching his fellow band mate, as he is seen tickling Styles’ face and pulling his shirt up to flash his torso to the screaming fans.

Despite the band mostly laughing off the gay rumors, many fans have uploaded photos and video clips to YouTube suggesting the boys have more than just a bromance.
