Latino superstar Jennifer Lopez is developing a lesbian themed family television drama, and according to reports she may also star in the series.

The untitled series will focus on two overworked mothers, a police officer and a private school teacher, who have a biological son and two adopted kids.

Their lives are turned upside down when a wayward teenage girl comes to live with them in the pilot.

As reported by Deadline, the American Idol judge is planning to guest star at some point during the series.

Lopez, famous for singles like On The Floor and movies like Maid in Manhattan, will be the executive producer.

The series will be written by its creators, Queer As Folk’s Peter Paige and Brad Bredeweg, who will also serve as executive producers.

No casting as of yet has been announced, but the network ABC Family is said to be fast tracking the project.

This is the first time Lopez has made a transition to scripted television since her cameos in sitcom How I Met Your Mother in 2010, and gay comedy Will & Grace in 2004.
