Gay singer and actor John Barrowman has been named PetNet’s Celebrity Dog Owner of the Year.
PetNet, an online community for cat and dog lovers and their owners, honored Barrowman for his involvement with animals and the media.
The stage musical star, pictured with his canine companions Harris, Charlie and Captain Jack, said: ‘I’m delighted to receive this award.
‘My dogs play such an important role in my life and I am proud to promote responsible ownership.’
The Doctor Who and Torchwood actor said that he would donate the award money to DogsTrust, a UK dog charity.
Fans voted online for the winner and also voted 60s model Celia Hammond as Celebrity Cat Owner of the Year.
