Lesbian in Florida wins $10 million lottery prize, celebrates with wife
Tara Tuttle: 'I had a feeling that it was a lucky ticket'
Tara Tuttle had carried around an unscratched lottery ticket for more than a month.
So for more than a month, the resident of Coral Springs, Florida, had no idea she was about to become a multi-millionaire.
When she finally got around to scratching off the ticket, Tuttle discovered she had won a $10 million lottery prize. She headed down to Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee with wife Cary Tullis.
‘I had a feeling that it was a lucky ticket but I didn’t want to find out quite yet she tells the Florida Sun-Sentinal.
Tuttle won’t be getting the $10 million over the span of several years. Instead, she chose to receive $6.5 million as a one-time, lump-sum payment.
It is the largest lottery prize awarded in Florida’s Broward and Palm Beach counties so far this year.
