Madonna dedicates song to Elton John after ‘stripper’ slur

Queen of Pop and 'Rocket Man' singer's feud continues after she dedicates her Golden Globe winning song to him

Madonna has dedicated one of her songs to Elton John after he called her a ‘fairground stripper’.

While the two pop legends are known for their feud with one another, John took it one step further when he blasted the Queen of Pop on Australian TV in early August.

In an interview with gay presenter Ian ‘Molly’ Meldrum, he said: ‘Why is she such a nightmare? Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn’t happen to a bigger [word ‘beeped’ out on TV].

‘But no, she had to go and prove… she looks like a fucking fairground stripper. She’s been horrible to Gaga.’

Madonna has now responded by dedicating the song Masterpiece to him in Nice, France, during her worldwide MDNA tour. According to local paper Nice Matin, she said he was a ‘big fan’ of hers really, and said: ‘I forgive him.’

However John may not be very happy with the choice of song.

At the 2012 Golden Globes, Madonna won Best Original Song for Masterpiece beating John’s track for animated film Gnomeo and Juliet.

Before the show, John said Madonna didn’t stand a ‘fucking chance’ of winning.

But when Madonna picked up her second Golden Globe, and was asked how it felt to beat John, she joked: ‘Well, I hope he speaks to me for the next couple of years. He’s been known to get mad at me.’

‘He’s brilliant and I adore him, so, he’ll win another award and I don’t feel bad.’
