Ann Romney, wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, says her favorite show is the ABC comedy Modern Family which features the gay couple of Cam and Mitch.

The couple are raising an adopted daughter in the Emmy-winning show that revolves around Cam and Mitch as well as the families of Mitch’s father and sister.

The show’s creator and executive producer Steve Levitan took to Twitter to respond to the potential First Lady’s television taste which would seem to fly in the face of her husband’s political stance against gay marriage.

‘Thrilled Ann Romney says ModFam is her favorite show,’ Levitan tweeted Tuesday (28 August). ‘We’ll offer her the role of officiant at Mitch & Cam’s wedding. As soon as it’s legal.’

In March 2002, the Boston Globe reports that Ann Romney signed a petition supporting a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage and domestic partner benefits in Massachusetts where same-sex marriage is now legal.
