Gay indie music legend Morrissey's guitarist and co-songwriter Boz Boorer has been performing in drag during their tour of Japan, which finishes tonight at Ebisu Garden Hall in Tokyo.
Morrissey introduced Boorer, who has been touring with Morrissey since 1991, as
'the lovely, irrepressible Gaynor Tension'.
The rest of the band were wearing t'shirts reading 'Assad is shit' presumably referring to the president of Syria, Bashar al-Assad.
'Do you think anything will save the people of Syria?' Morrissey asks the audience. 'Nothing is saving the people of Syria. It's a shame something like the United Nations doesn't exist, because it doesn't, does it?
Morrissey himself at one point wears a trousers made out of the Japanese flag with the rising sun strategically positioned over his groin.
The Morrissey tour will continue in South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia (a first), The Philippines in May before traveling to the US and Europe.
