Police shot and killed a man in Vallejo, California, after he went on a suspected drug-fuelled ‘naked rampage’ ending with him and his gay lover setting their house on fire and smashing car windows.

Jeremiah Moore, 29, was spotted by officers running nude into the burning home, but when police followed, he pointed a rifle at the stomach of one of the cops.

The officer’s partner then opened fire on Moore, who was later pronounced dead at a hospital, reported the Associated Press.

Vallejo police Lieutenant Lee Horton said investigators suspect Moore and his 28-year-old partner Jason Jessie had taken hallucinogenics and are waiting for toxicology results.

However, Moore’s mother Lisa Moore denied her son was a drug addict and claimed he had Asperger’s syndrome.

She said: ‘He was happy. He had done well for himself.’

Jessie was arrested on suspicion of battery on a police officer and obstructing an officer.
