A naked man was shot dead by Miami police after he chewed off another man’s face.

After seeing a naked man lying on the pavement eating his victim’s face in the Florida city’s MacArthur Causeway, a woman flagged down a passing police officer.

He ordered the hungry nude to back away, but when he refused, he fired his gun and killed him.

The survivor, who is believed to have been homeless, is currently fighting for his life in hospital, reported the Miami Herald, whose building is outside where the incident happened.

CBS Miami reported that police sources claim the attacker’s meal included the victim’s nose and eyeballs and he has been left with virtually no face.

‘There are other ways to injure people,’ Sergeant Altarr Williams, supervisor of the Miami police homicide unit, told the Herald.

‘Some people know martial arts, others are very strong and can kill you with their hands.’

The identity of both men has not been revealed and official details have yet to be released by the police.
