Barack Obama hid his 'gay life' to become president, claims a story on a right wing US news website.

Speaking to World Net Daily (WND), gay Christian conservative Kevin DuJan says Obama was a regular at gay bars and bathhouses in Chicago.

DuJan, who lived in the city while Obama was state senator there, said the Democrat president was well known on the gay scene.

The founder and editor of political website HillBuzz said: 'It was preposterous to the people I knew then to think Obama was going to keep his gay life secret.'

'Nobody who knew Obama in the gay bar scene thought he could possibly be president.'

DuJan, who on his HillBuzz biography is described as a 'former centrist Democrat turned independent turned out and proud conservative Republican', claims to have several sources to back up his story.

'If you just hang out in these bars, the older guys who have been frequenting these gay bars for 25 years will tell you these stories,' he said.

'Obama used to go to these gay bars during the week, most often on Wednesday, and they said he was very much into older white guys.'

On his website, DuJan says his life mission is to 'bring the Democrat party’s chickens home to roost' after Obama was chosen as presidential candidate over Hillary Clinton.

The WND story also cites similar claims by journalist Wayne Madsen, as well as alleging that Obama is a member of a 'well-known' gay gym in Chicago.

It's not the first time WND has run stories attacking the president on a personal level, publicizing conspiracy theories about Barack Obama's citizenship status, claiming he is not a natural-born American citizen and his place in office is therefore illegitimate.

In the 2008 presidential campaign, the website called for Obama to produce his birth certificate as evidence.

More recently WND has run campaigns against LGBT Republicans.
