Blanco is a rapper and performance artist from the US. Described as ‘unapologetically punk’ by Out magazine, his most recent album was called ‘Gay Dog Food’, and detailed his struggles with crafting an identity. His artist’s name is inspired by the rapper Lil’ Kim’s alter ego, Kimmy Blanco.
Blanco identifies as trans or multigendered, though he has a history of working under different gender pronouns. He currently uses male pronouns for himself.
The announcement coincides with Pride Weekend in Brooklyn, where Blanco often performs.
