Santorum glittered

Activists throw glitter at Santorum

It wasn't a good night for Rick Santorum. The presidential candidate came in a distant third in the Republican South Carolina primary. After his concession speech, he was 'glittered.'

'Glittering,'  also known as glitter bombing, is a controversial tactic used to protest politicos perceived as anti-LGBT. Activists go to rallies and throw glitter at the politicians.

'I got him in the face,'  one of the protestors said as reported by MSNBC News.

The activists were part of the Occupy Charleston movement.

Santorum's anti-LGBT record is well documented. He compared homosexuality to bestiality. Made a direct link between gay marriage and polygamy. Promises to support a Constitutional amendment banning gay marriage, wants any gay unions annulled, and wishes Don't Ask, Don't Tell restored.

Despite this social conservative record, the former Pennsylvania senator  could not garner many votes in yesterday's primary. He did win the Iowa caucus earlier in the month.
