Actress Sofía Vergara continues to support same-sex marriage.

In a Spanish-language interview with Terra.com last week, the Modern Family actress said: ‘I think we need to respect each other, support each other and ensure each other’s well-being’.

The Colombian actress and model has been nominated for two Golden Globe Awards, two Primetime Emmys and three Screen Actors Guild Awards for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on Modern Family.

On the show, her gay son-in-law and his partner are raising their adopted daughter.

Vergara has previously been outspoken about her support of the LGBT community.

In a 2011 interview with The Advocate, she expressed the importance of returning support to her gay and lesbian fans.

In 2010 Vergara filmed a public service campaign for GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation).
