DJ Kim Ann Foxman has been announced as the first big international act to perform at the 2014 Sydney Mardi Gras Party which takes place each year after the close of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade.

First release tickets for the Party went on sale at 9am Sydney time today, with organizers promising a wild and sexy lineup of Australian and international talent, fabulous outfits and palpable party spaces.

Foxman will bring her unique brand of soulful house to Sydney on the back of a hugely successful international tour, which included sellout shows in Japan, Cologne and Chicago.

The former Hercules and Love Affair member will spin her singles Creature and Return It as well as a raft of other tracks.

Also performing will be up and coming Australian DJ Dan Slater who recently completed a European tour. Slater began his DJ career as a winner of the Mardi Gras DJ Spin-Off Competition, which saw him DJing at the 2012 Mardi Gras Party, and he’s ready to show Sydneysiders just how far he’s come.

Making her Mardi Gras debut in 2014 will be international festival-circuit regular and hip hop DJ Yo! M.A.F.I.A. The self-proclaimed sneaker freak and Hip Hop junkie has been performing for over 15 years, DJing alongside such stars as Iggy Azalea, Missy Elliot and Lady Gaga.

More additions to the party lineup will be announced over the coming months, including other international stars, but diehard partygoers are urged to get in fast with only a limited allocation of tickets now available at the first release price.

First held in 1980 with just 700 attendees, the Mardi Gras Party is an annual fundraiser for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade and Festival, and now sells around 20,000 tickets each year, taking over multiple venues across Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter.
