Jenna Talackova tells US television about love life, hopes for future and other contestants' support
Transgender Miss Universe Canada finalist Jenna Talackova says she has a boyfriend and plans to have two children.
Talackova, 23, made appearances on Good Morning America and the View on Monday (9 April), telling hosts about her relationship and plans for the future.
She told Good Morning America that, while her boyfriend of two-and-a-half years wasn’t initially aware she was born a man, once she told him he was very supportive and accepting.
On the View Talackova talked about how she felt she had been in the ‘wrong body’ all her life. She began hormone treatment at 14, while still in school.
Originally from Vancouver, Talackova was ousted from Miss Universe Canada after it was discovered she had been born a man. Outraged viewers then took to social networks and started petitions to protest her removal.
Talackova was later allowed back to the competition, which is owned by American businessman Donald Trump.
She told Good Morning America on Monday that the other contestants have been very supportive and encouraging.
Talackova will now compete for the title of Miss Universe Canada on 19 May in Toronto.
