The Associated Press, with other news organizations, is reporting that Grammy award singer Whitney Houston is dead.

Publicist Kristen Foster made the announcement on Saturday, but offered no details about cause or location.

The multiple award winner was 48.

Houston was known for such songs as 'How Will I Know,' 'Saving All My Love for You,' and 'I Will Always Love You.' She also starred in movies such as  'The Bodyguard'  and 'Waiting to Exhale.'
