Will American Idol undergo another change at the judge’s table before it returns for its 13th season next year?

E! Online reports that season eight runner-up Adam Lambert’s name is being floated as a possible addition to the line-up which may or may not include the current roster of Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson.

Lambert, currently touring with the band Queen, told Capitalfm.com that he t would ‘jump at the chance’ if he was asked.

‘What a beautiful rumor,’ Lambert said. ‘I mean if, and I say if with a capital I.F, if they were to approach me and if they were to say you know ‘we want you to be a judge on the show’ – I would love that!’

"I would jump at the chance,’ he added. ‘I think it would be fun.’

Lambert, whose most recent album opened at number one on the Billboard sales charts, is one of the most successful alums in Idol history along with Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Chris Daughtry and Clay Aiken.

‘I’ve been a fan of the show since it’s been on television,’ he told Capitalfm. ‘I owe my career to American Ido. If you wasn’t for American Idol I doubt I’d be sitting here with you. I don’t think my life would have went the way it went.’
