Winner announced for GSN’s Gay Pet Month
29 October 2012

Drumroll please! The winner has been announced for Gay Star News’ Gay Pet Month.

For the entirety of October, you have been sending us your pictures and videos of your ridiculously cute animals.

Gay Pet Month is an excuse to celebrate the fluffy, feathery, slimy, scaly, and any gay’s best friend.

While every single pet is ridiculously cute, there can only be one winner of the £100 voucher to spend on PetsPyjamas.

The winner is… Coco the cat!

A diva! A starlet in the making! Look at how she bathes in the lap of luxury!

Why, before the picture was taken, we imagine Coco must have demanded a cocktail served by the most muscular man at the nearest model agency.

We expect she will love her clothes from PetPyjamas, which calls itself the ‘ultimate shopping destination and social network for stylish pets and their owners’, and has thousands of designer and brand pet products.

But the cuteness doesn’t stop there. The runner-up, who will receive a GSN goody bag, is… Shiroku!

Ortiz Ruby, who sent in the picture, said the name was Japanese for Rainbow Dog. We can imagine why.

Gay Pet Month was sponsored by Direct Line, who provides pet insurance. Not only does it relieve you of the vet’s massive fees, but also helps with extra treatment like hydrotherapy or physiotherapy so your pet can recover quickly.

Adam Whiteley, head of Direct Line pet insurance, said: ‘We take the health and wellbeing of pets very seriously, so being involved with celebrations like this is a great way for us to talk to pet owners about the importance of pet insurance. We’ve been insuring dogs and cats for over 15 years, so we’ve got plenty to say!’
