E! network identifies pair as 'Liza Miinnelli and guest'

Andrew Rannells and Lena Dunham, who play BFFs on HBO's Girls, got a surprise at the Golden Globe Awards when they stopped on the red carpet to chat with E! host Ryan Seacrest.

The entertainment channel identified the pair in its graphic as 'Liza Minnelli and guest.'

Rannells posted a screen grab of the flub on Twitter on Tuesday and wrote: This is really special. I assume I am “guest” but… you never know.'

In a scene never seen by viewers of HBO's Girls, Andrew Rannells strips down to his skivvies at a store unaware the walls are made of see-through glass - not mirrors.

'This is a really slutty store,' Rannells' Elijah tells Lena Dunham's Hannah.

Before he takes his pants off, the scene is a fun conversation between the pals as they shop for a gift for Hannah's boyfriend, Adam.

Move over bitches, John Cameron Mitchell is stepping into the platform shoes of Hedwig again.

Mitchell is set to step into the title role of Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway after Michael C. Hall completes his run on 18 January.

He co-created the role of a transgender punk rocker, debuted it Off-Broadway in 1998 and later starred in a 2001 feature film.

The current Broadway production has been a smash since it opened in the spring with Neil Patrick Harris in the role.

Promotional photos released Monday (6 October) show that Michael C. Hall is ready for his close-up on Broadway in the title role in the musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

The show about a transgender punk rock singer has continued to be a hit even after the departure in August of Tony winning star Neil Patrick Harris.

Andrew Rannells has stepped into the role for the past two months at the Belasco Theatre.

Hall takes over for Rannells on 16 October and will be in the role through early January 2015.

Versatile actor to go from playing serial killer on television to transgender rock singer in Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Michael C. Hall is going to have some mighty high platform high heels to fill.

It was announced Monday that the after, who played a serial killer for eight seasons on Showtime's Dexter, will take over the title role in the smash Broadway musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch next month.

The character of a transgender rock singer won Neil Patrick Harris a Tony Award before he left the show in August. He was replaced by Andrew Rannells whose run ends next month.

Hall will debut on 16 October and is set to be with the show through early January.

Justin Bartha's character's membership revoked for 'homosexual conduct'

The New Normal, the NBC comedy about a gay couple starting a family, is airing an episode this week (26 March) that focuses on the Boy Scouts of America's ban on gay members and leaders.

The episode has the character of David, a gay physician  played by Justin Bartha, volunteering to help out a friend by chaperoning an overnight scouts camping trip.

He agrees to participate despite the concern his TV executive hubby Bryan (Andrew Rannells) who is concerned about the BSA's anti-gay ban.

Stars like Darren Criss, Andrew Rannells and the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills got all the red carpet attention Saturday (9 February) at the Family Equality Council's awards dinner in Los Angeles as honoree Chris Kluwe slipped by virtually unnoticed.

But by the end of evening, everyone was talking about NFL player Kluwe whose visibility as an LGBT activist grew exponentially last September when he blasted Maryland Assembly Delegate Emmett C. Burns Jr. in a withering, profanity-laced letter.
