World Out Games 2017 has been awarded to Miami Beach

Reykjavík or Miami Beach? It’s a tough choice but that’s the decision that the World Out Games have been grappling with today at their meeting in Antwerp.

After site visits to both cities, delegates from as far afield as Los Angeles, Mexico, Manchester, Australia and Tonga gathered together for final presentations, deliberations, and a vote - which has ultimately gone the way of Miami Beach.

The city's mayor said rainbow t-shirts conflict with the coalition government's policy of neturality

The Mayor of Antwerp has said civil servants should not be allowed to wear rainbow t-shirts during office hours.

Speaking in an interview with Belgian newspapers Het Nieuwsblad and De Standard, Bart De Wever, a Flemish nationalist, said wearing rainbow t-shirts would conflict with a policy of neutrality in Antwerp.

He pointed to a coalition agreement which states 'external symbols pointing to a philosophical or political conviction, support for a trade union, or sports club' may not be worn during office.

The annual LGBT aquatics championships will be drenching the state of Washington in 2013

International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics (IGLA) is the organization that brings the world’s LGBT aquatics clubs together, sharing information and knowledge as well as staging an annual championships for LGBT competitors in swimming, diving, open water, synchronized swimming, and water polo.

We caught up with Jason Stone, head of the organizing committee for IGLA2013 to take a look at plans for this year’s event which will be held in the US city of Seattle.

Two young men have been convicted after they enticed gay men to an isolated location in Antwerp, Belgium and robbed them of their cash, bankcards and mobile phones

Two young men are reported to have been convicted for luring gay men to a desolate location robbing them of their cash, bankcards and mobile phones.

The criminals used a Dutch dating site to pose as gay men seeking romantic meets. The men who were conned by the criminals thought they were heading for a romantic meet at the food of the Boerentoren (or KBC) Tower in Antwerp, Belgium.

The World Outgames is a four-yearly LGBT sports event - in 2013 the event will be hosted by the city of Antwerp, Belgium.

One of Antwerp’s smartest moves was to appoint Belgium’s champion archer Ivan Denis as an ambassador for the World Outgames. Young, small, dark and handsome, Denis is cute as a button but fiercely intelligent and articulate. An impressive advocate for his sport and country.

Mr Gay World competitors in Johannesburg, South Africa take on sports, receptions, parties, elephants and the Belgian embassy

Mr Gay World contestants have spent the last few days absorbing South African culture and stripping off to take part in a ‘sports challenge’.

Delegates from around the world are attending the event in Johannesburg but Mr Gay New Zealand, Andrea Derleth, have picked up the prize so far, for an obstacle course and written exam on questions about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history.

Activists hope a video featuring gay men and women with their mouths gagged or taped will go viral in a final push to stop St Petersburg's anti-gay 'propaganda' law.

Politicians in the Russian city yesterday (29 February) voted in favor of the 'gag gay' bill which makes people criminals if they discuss homosexuality in public.
