Retired judge Michael Kirby reached the pinnacle of his profession and served on the High Court of Australia for 13 years, but despite this he said today that he is a 'second-class citizen' because he can't marry his partner of 43 years.

Kylie Minogue, the Australian pop sensation and worldwide gay icon, is set to headline the BBC’s Proms In The Park concert this Septmember.

Minogue, who is celebrating her 25th year in the music industry, revealed in a statement that she is ‘delighted to be performing at one of the UK’s most outstanding nights of the musical calendar.

‘To sing in front of thousands of people whilst being accompanied by the legendary BBC Concert Orchestra in such a special year is truly a dream come true.’

Gay icon Kylie Minogue shows off her famous bottom for video in London's Chinatown

Aussie pop princess Kylie Minogue proved to fans her bum still looks good in hotpants when she was spotted riding a motorbike through the streets of London's Soho district.

The pint-sized singer braved the wet weather in the UK capital last night (19 April) to film the video for her new single in Chinatown.

Minogue is known for showing off her peachy bottom, famously wearing a pair of gold hotpants in the video for Spinning Around in 2000 and was once again seen showing off her best asset, dressed in skimpy denim shorts and sporting a retro leather jacket.

Wearing a tight-fitting Buzz Lightyear costume on a Los Angeles movie set, Ian Roberts is a long ways away from his days as a professional rugby player in Australia.

He calmly does take after take of a scene taking place at a Halloween party for the romantic comedy Saltwater where, ironically, it is his love interest (played by the film's writer, Ronnie Kerr) who is dressed as a rugby player.

Australia’s Coalition leader and head of the Opposition has lauded his sister for bravery in coming out, but remains staunchly opposed to gay marriage.

Tony Abbott said it was brave of his 47-year-old sister Christine Forster to confirm her relationship with Virginia Edwards. However, this would not affect Coalition’s marriage policy.

Barry Humphries hangs up his glittered gloves and bids farewell to a few fond friends

Barry Humphries, the genius behind comedic masterpieces Dame Edna Everage, Sir Les Patterson and Sandy Stone, has decided to hang up his sequined gloves and make his next tour his last.

In talks to the Sunday Telegraph, the 78-year-old revealed that his new show, Eat Pray Laugh (a play on the 2010 film starring Julia Roberts, Eat Play Love) will be the last chance to see his iconic characters live on stage.

'Look, the fact of the matter is that I’m beginning to feel a bit senior,' the ageing Aussie legend explained.

SBS news presenter and finance journalist, Ricardo Goncalves, known to be openly gay among the Sydney LGBTI community, was unaware he was being filmed whilst bantering with a colleague.

The Australian-Portuguese anchor appeared to be rehearsing ahead of his 9.30pm bulletin when a makeup artist came into shot, powdering his nose.

Daywash Party at the Chinese Laundry brings Mardi Gras to a close

Wet and wild seems to have been a bit of a recurring theme for Sydney's 34th Mardi Gras.

After a fairly sodden but enthusiastic parade on Saturday (which saw 9100 marches and 134 floats lighting up Oxford Street) followed by the massive Mardigrasland party (where 15,300 revellers were wowed by spectacular performances by RuPaul and Kylie Minogue), there were a lot of happy people enjoying some brilliant sunshine on Sunday morning.

Sydney’s gay pride parade is underway as a posse of leathered up ladies tear up Oxford Street

It is bucketing it down with heavy rain, but Sydney’s Dykes on Bikes once again open the Mardi Gras parade in style. This is what the crowd have been waiting for and the deafening sounds of the big bikes is greeted with cheers by the expectant crowd - the 34th parade is officially underway!

Gay Star News is watching the parade from the Glamstand area, towards the end of the march route, so we’re going to get a great view of all the floats, the costumes and the 9,000 marchers that make this parade one of the world’s biggest celebrations of LGBT pride.

Pop princess Kylie Minogue may be busy preparing for this year’s Sydney Mardi Gras, but she found the time to celebrate the festivities by appearing at a VIP party.

The night began the weekend celebrations for K25 – Kylie’s 25 year career in the music industry.

Four men arrested in connection with the murder of Cape Town club owner Bruno Bronn appeared in court yesterday

Four men appeared in court yesterday in connection with the murder of a gay club owner in Cape Town, South Africa.

Bruno Bronn, 50, was found dead in his home last Tuesday (7 February).

According to police, the owner of the famous Bronx nightclub, situated in the heart of the city's gay scene in Somerset Road, was found lying on his back on the floor with his hands tied with tape in front of him.

Connor Cruise sends angry text to publicist after Patriots lose Super Bowl

Connor Cruise, in Indianapolis to DJ a pre-Super Bowl party, was apparently in the mood to be teased about the New England Patriots' loss to the New York Giants.

One of his repesentatives, Todd Krim, sent him a teasing tweet saying 'maybe next year,'  after the game. Krim says he got a blistering text message from the son of Tom Cruise.

It read: 'That was a gay ass [bleeping] tweet . . . U don’t say [bleep] like that about my team the second they lose. Low.'

Gay X Factor finalist Johnny Robinson and the London Gay Men's Chorus are performing in the Canary Wharf underground tube station this Friday to raise funds for the Samaritans.

Both acts will perform a number of uplifting tracks voted for by the public during the Samaritans' nation wide survey of Britain's favourite feel-good songs.

Kylie Minogue, theme park and fair scheduled for 3 week LGBTQI festival

The 2012 Sydney Mardi Gras kicks off in just 10 days time and the festival looks set to be one of the best yet!

The event will begin on 12 February with a special Fair Day to celebrate the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex members of the Australian community.

Held in Victoria Park, Camperdown the free event will have live entertainment, a boys versus girls tug-of-war and even a Doggywood pet pageant.

Aussie stars speak out for Australian Marriage Equality campaign

Actor Guy Pearce and musician Jimmy Barnes are the latest famous Aussies to speak out in support of gay marriage on behalf of the Australian Marriage Equality campaign.

Pearce, who gained a large gay following after starring in the film Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, said support and acceptance of the LGBT community has grown since he played a drag queen in that 1994 film.
