Singapore's highest Islamic authority cautions Muslims against adopting a 'confrontational approach' and that mosques 'must not be seen as a movement to oppose' LGBTIs

With one week to go before Pink Dot, the largest pro-LGBTI rally in Singapore, an Islamic religious teacher earlier this month launched an online campaign to protest against homosexuality and the Pink Dot event.

Led by Ustaz Noor Deros, a religious teacher, the group said in a press statement on its web site that the WearWhite (#wearwhite) movement is a response to their 'observations of the growing normalization of LGBT in Singapore.'

Their video on YouTube, which features 10 unnamed individuals and was released earlier this week, has since been made private.

DJ Stalter was wearing his police uniform and held up small Pride rainbow flag during smooch

Members of the anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church showed up at Washington DC's pride parade toting their usual 'God Hates Fags' and other signs of hate.

DJ Stalter, an officer with the Arlington County Police Department, decided it would make a nice photo op if he gave his boyfriend a kiss on the lips in front of the Westboro demonstration.

Salter was in uniform and holding up a small rainbow pride flag when he smooched boyfriend Mark Raimondo who posted the photo on Instagram.

The members of La Mirada, California’s New Heart Community Church have voted to keep their pastor who accepted his gay son and to not pass judgement on LGBTI people

A California Southern Baptist congregation have voted to keep their pastor who accepted his gay son and to welcome LGBTI people without judgement.

Pastor Danny Cortez of the New Heart Community Church went public with his support for his 15-year-old son Drew in a sermon in February entitled ‘Why I changed my mind on homosexuality.’

Cortez spoke about how Drew had come out to him after he learned his father liked the Macklemore and Ryan Lewis song Same Love because of its inclusive message.

Gay Star Trek actor performs the Disney song, urging the 'God Hates Fags' church to 'let it go'

George Takei has taken on the Westboro Baptist Church with a video lip syncing Frozen’s Let It Go.

The gay former Star Trek actor has published the video in response to a homophobic cover of the Disney song done by the ‘God Hates Fags’ church.

The video opens with a title card, reading: ‘Presenting the Let It Go cover the world has been waiting for’.

It then cuts to Takei, lip syncing along to Idina Menzel and dancing in front of a green screen.

He is wearing a woolly hat and scarf, pleading with the church to ‘let it go’.

Labelling the late poet a ‘fag pimp’, anti-gay group Westboro tweet appealing for information about Angelou’s funeral so they can plan a picket

Notorious anti-gay group Westboro Baptist Church are planning to protest the funeral of Maya Angelou because of her pro-gay views.

The US-based group announced on Twitter they had added Angelou, who passed away on 28 May, to their picket schedule.

Angelou, 86 when she died, was a prolific poet, author and activist. She was vocal about her pro-gay views throughout her career.

Fred Phelps reportedly supported gay rights and was then excommunicated from the Westboro Baptist Church before he died, his grandson has claimed.

New information is emerging about one of the most famous homophobic monsters in the world, who called for LGBTI people to be stoned to death.

His grandson 23-year-old Zachary Phelps-Roper, who left the church in February, has spoken out following his grandfather’s passing in March.

The group accuses Cher of compounding her 'sins' by 'pandering to the fags/dykes (read: those with discretionary spending money).'

It also launches deeply personal attacks on people in the life of the Oscar, Grammy and Emmy winning entertainer including her mother, her ex-husbands and her children - especially her transgender son Chaz Bono.

23-year-old Zach Phelps-Roper, a grandson of Westboro Baptist Church founder Fred Phelps, has left the church and has spoken about how kind gay people have been to him since leaving

Zach Phelps-Roper has spoken about his decision to break away from the Westboro Baptist Church and reconnect with other family members excommunicated from the notorious anti-gay church.

23-year-old Zach moved out of the family compound on 20 February, with the help of cousins who had already left the church.

He is the fourth of his ten siblings to leave the church, now lead by his mother Shirley Phelps-Roper - the daughter of church founder Fred Phelps

Delta state governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has used an Easter address to warn that a gay cult of teenagers called ‘Yansh’ is operating in his state

A Nigerian state governor has promised to crack down on a gay teenage ‘cult’ he claims is operating in his state.

Delta state governor Emmanuel Uduaghan made the claims in an Easter address, saying officials had identified a building in Warri that the cult, which he said goes by the name of Yansh, was operating out of.

Uduaghan told worshipers at Warri’s First Baptist Church that gay youths aged 16 to 18 were renting rooms in apartments close to Enerhen Junction and prostituting themselves to men through the cult.

Westboro Baptist Church picketed Kiwi pop star Lorde’s concert in Kansas City, Missouri armed with their homophobic posters but were faced with counter protests of sympathy for the death of their leader Fred Phelps.

The concert at the Midland Theatre in downtown Kansas City yesterday (21 March) was picketed by the infamous gay hate group holding their usual homophobic signs such as ‘God Hates Fags’.

However, Lorde’s fans and the people of Kansas staged their own counter protest.

Judy Shepard: 'I know how solemn these moments are for anyone who loses a loved one'

Westboro Baptist Church founder Fred Phelps rose to prominence after protesting the funeral of gay college student Matthew Shepard who was murdered in a hate crime in 1998.

But now that Phelps himself has died this week at the age of 84, Shepard's family has no desire to celebrate.

His mother, Judy Shepard, said in a statement: 'Regarding the passing of Fred Phelps, (my husband) Dennis and I know how solemn these moments are for anyone who loses a loved one.'

The founder of the ‘God Hates Fags’ Westboro Baptist Church is dead, and now the future of the homophobic cult looks to be in doubt.

Fred Phelps, 84, died late Wednesday (19 March), according to online postings of his church.

And now, experts on the so-called church say it will likely fizzle out.

In the past few years, several members have left and it now only consists of a few remaining followers – nearly all family members of Phelps.

The 84-year-old founder of the most hated and homophobic family in America has died in a Kansas hospice

Fred Phelps, the founder of the ‘God Hates Fags’ Westboro Baptist Church, was pronounced dead today (20 March).

His son Timothy has said his 84-year-old father passed away just before midnight in a Kansas hospital last night.

Days before he died, estranged son Nate Phelps took to his Facebook page to announce his father was ‘on the edge of death’.

He said: 'I feel sad for all the hurt he's caused so many. I feel sad for those who will lose the grandfather and father they loved.

The Satanic Temple already claims to have made Fred Phelps’ mother Catherine Idalette Johnston a lesbian in the afterlife after holding a ‘pink mass’ over her grave in July of last year in which two same-sex couples kissed over her grave during a satanic ceremony.

Several people have called to hold a gay rights protest at the funeral of Fred Phelps, the leader of the ‘God Hates Fags’ Westboro Baptist Church.

While he has not passed on yet, his estranged son Nate has confirmed the father of the ‘most hated family in America’ is on his deathbed.

He is currently in Midland Hospice house in Topeka, Kansas. No other information is available about his condition.

The Westboro Baptist Church, a cult-like organization based in Kansas has for years picketed soldiers’ funerals and protested against LGBTI rights.

The Rev. Robert Nugent, who spent 30 years ministering to LGBTI Catholics before being stopped by the Vatican, has died aged 76 from lung cancer

Co-founder of groundbreaking US LGBTI Catholic group New Ways Ministry the Rev. Robert Nugent died of lung cancer 1 January aged 76.

Nugent, a member of the Salvatorian Catholic order, had spent 32 years ministering to LGBTI Catholics in an accepting way from 1977 until he was stopped in 1999 by the then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger who became Pope Benedict XVI six years later.

New Ways Ministry survived without him and he assisted in parish ministry at St. John the Baptist Church in New Freedom, Pennsylvania, until his retirement in summer of 2013.

A religious leader in a gay marriage in a US state where it is legal has resigned after she was concerned it would 'divide' the church

A pastor has resigned after announcing to her congregation she is married to a woman.

Bishop Allyson Abrams, 43, stepped down from Zion Progress Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan last week.

According to the Detroit Free Press, she told her congregation she married her wife Diana Williams in March in Iowa - a state where same-sex marriage is legal.

Popstar Ke$ha treated Westboro Baptist Church protestors to a choreographed dance routine from three male back-up dancers during her Nebraska show on Sunday (19 August).

Followers of the extreme church group were chanting an anti-gay version of Ke$ha’s hit anthem ‘We R Who We R’, titled ‘God Hates Who U R’ outside the stadium in Lincoln.

In response, the openly bisexual star sent a few of her dancers to surprise the protestors, providing slick choreography to accompany the hateful lyrics.
