The woman alleges that the bookstore discriminated against her when she told management that she wanted to transition

A transgender, former employee of Barnes and Noble has lodged a lawsuit against the company, alleging that she faced discriminatory treatment, before eventually being fired, after telling her bosses that she wished to undergone gender transition from male to female.

She has brought the action with the help of the Transgender Law Center, Alexander Krakow + Glick LLP and the Law Offices of G. Samuel Cleaver.

‘I loved my job at Barnes & Noble,’ said Victoria Ramirez in a statement.

Joan Rivers may be a comic that gets into more trouble than most, but she knows love when she sees it.

She was at a Barnes & Noble in New York City to sign copies of her new book, Diary of a Mad Diva, when two fans asked her if it was true she was an ordained minister.

Joe Aiello and Jed Ryan then asked her if she’d marry them right then and there.

The 81-year-old icon brought the couple of three years up on stage and performed the ceremony, as fans cheered from the crowd.
