A magical gay couple have just got engaged at Hogwarts in Universal Orlando, Florida.

Nicholas, 25, and Ben, 22, are a young couple who have been together for five years as of this past December.

It was really important to Nicholas that he propose in a place that felt special for them.

'I had planned the proposal since April, so about eight months,' he told Gay Star News.

'We are both HUGE Harry Potter fans and this would be the first year that he came down to Florida with my family.'

The gay-themed drama Love is Strange received four Independent Spirit Award nominations today including one for Best Feature.

The film tells the story of Ben (John Lithgow) and George (Alfred Molina) who are finally able to get legally married in New York after nearly 40 years together.

But not long after their joyful wedding, George is fired from his job teaching music at a Catholic school. Someone at the school saw their wedding photos posted in Facebook.

She then gave the girls and gays online an early Christmas present by posting them on Twitter.

Australian Marriage Equality (AME) has today revealed its federal election campaign strategy - unveiling a website that has the stance on the issue of virtually all candidates for all electorates and Senate seats - and plans to target 500,000 voters across seven key inner-city electorates.

‘The aim of our campaign is to have as many pro-marriage equality candidates elected as possible by informing marriage equality supporters how they can vote for love,’ AME national director Rodney Croome said.

Ben Whishaw, who played Q in last year’s James Bond instalment Skyfall, revealed his civil partnership to Australian composer Mark Bradshaw.

British actor James Whishaw has confirmed that he married last year.

His representative said last night that he and his boyfriend, Australian composer Mark Bradshaw, entered into a civil partnership in Sydney last August.

Whishaw’s spokesperson said yesterday: ‘Due to speculation, I can confirm that Ben and Mark entered into a civil partnership in August 2012. They were proud to do so and are very happy.

‘Ben has never hidden his sexuality, but like many actors he prefers not to discuss his family or life outside of his work.’

The fashion guru will front the lavish ceremony at London's V&A Museum on 1 November, celebrating people and organisations who’ve made a positive contribution to the lives of Britain’s 3.7 million lesbian, gay and bisexual people.

The annual event is the biggest night in the UK gay rights charity's fundraising calendar.

The prince and rugby union star posed together after a charity football match celebrating the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO).

The image, which Cohen recently posted on his Facebook and Twitter page, shows the two hunks holding up a t-shirt for The Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation.

Cohen tweeted: ‘My opposite number in the football match today was the Great Prince Harry! Harry loves what we are doing with StandUp!’
