Don Lemon: 'As a victim myself I would never want to suggest that any victim could have prevented a rape'

Don Lemon, an openly gay anchor for CNN, came under fire this week for his line of questioning to a woman who is accusing Bill Cosby of rape.

Joan Tarshis said she faked having an infection to avoid intercourse with Cosby but did other acts. Lemon said that 'there are ways not to perform oral sex if you didn’t want to do it.'

He mentioned that one of the ways was 'the using of the teeth.'

Tarshis, who was 19 at the time of the alleged attack, remained composed during the interview and said it hadn't occurred to her to retaliate in that way.

Joins exclusive club that includes Richard Pryor, Steve Martin, Whoopi Goldberg and George Carlin

Ellen DeGeneres, whose talk show has won 25 Emmys, will need to make room on her awards shelf for yet another honor: the 15th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Past winners include Richard Pryor, Steve Martin, Whoopi Goldberg, Tina Fey, George Carlin and Will Ferrell.

'It's such an honor to receive the Mark Twain Prize,' she said in a statement. 'To get the same award that has been given to people like Bill Cosby, Tina Fey and Will Ferrell, it really makes me wonder … why didn't I get this sooner?'
