Union J, which includes openly gay member Jaymi Hensley, have unveiled their debut single ‘Carry You’.

The British boyband, who competed on the 2012 season of The X Factor UK, will release the single on 2 June.

Hensley (pictured second from left), who came out while competing on the show last year, said he has been ‘overwhelmed’ by the support he has had, especially from his bandmates George Shelley, Josh Cuthbert and JJ Hamblett.

The Wanted’s Tom Parker has called on One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson to come out as gay.

The two British boybands reignited their feud on Twitter in the early hours of this morning (8 April), when Parker questioned why One Direction kept making references to The Wanted on their tour.

After several low blows, with Tomlinson telling Parker to ‘enjoy the press’ from the argument, Parker responded by implying the 21-year-old heartthrob is gay.

X Factor semi-finalists Union J lost their bid to win the UK singing competition after receiving the fewest amounts of public votes last night (3 December).

After the results were announced, gay band member Jaymi Hensley, 22, said: 'I can’t describe how amazing it’s been, we’ve loved every moment of it.'

Jaymi came out publicly last month after his mentor Louis Walsh gave him the go ahead. He has previously spoken of the overwhelming support he’s received.

X Factor’s Jaymi Hensley has officially come out as gay.

The Union J boyband member was encouraged by his mentor on the British reality show, Louis Walsh, to reveal his sexuality.

The 22-year-old told The Sun that Walsh said out of the two big boybands he manages there is a gay member so it ‘fits the formula quite well’.

‘Every boyband has got to have a gay one! And Louis just said “do it!”’ he said.
