Batman's love of tight rubber and bromance with boy wonder Robin hinted at it, but now one of the comic's writers has confirmed it - the caped crusader is gay.

Grant Morrison, who has been writing Batman stories for DC Comics since 2006, told Playboy that Bruce Wayne is a 'sexual deviant'.

'Gayness is built into Batman,' said Morrison.

'I'm not using gay in the pejorative sense, but Batman is very, very gay. There's just no denying it.
