Frank Ocean wows with acoustic performance at MTV's Video Music Awards

Gay R&B singer sings stripped-down version of Thinkin Bout You

R&B singer Frank Ocean, who came out as a gay man earlier this summer, wowed the audience at Thursday night's MTV Video Music Awards with a serenely acoustic version of the song Thinkin Bout You from his debut solo album Channel Orange.

Ocean followed a rather rowdy set from Rihanna A$AP Rocky and Calvin Harris and quickly calmed things down.

He performed in front of a faux campfire which helped to set the quiet tone as he started the song a cappella.

Where Have You Been splashes with provocative moves, African themes and a house music backdrop

Global pop-star Rihanna has released the video to her new single Where Have You Been. 

The songstress recently sparked controversy about her sexuality after Tweeting about going in a date with a woman.

Paying an homage to Johnny Cash with the first line 'I've been everywhere,' Rihanna's latest video is reminiscent of Janet Jackson's Together Again showing African tribal motifs and some involved choreography.

American band spawned from New York gay scene debut Only The Horses 

Scissor Sisters, the band famous for the song Filthy/Gorgeous, unveiled their new single Only The Horses on BBC Radio 1 today.

Premiering on Fearne Cotton’s radio show at midday, the dance-pop song will be released one week earlier than planned on 13 May.

Produced by Calvin Harris, the single will precede the new album Magic Hour released on 28 May.

Speaking about the track, openly gay lead singer Jake Shears said: ‘When we wrote Only The Horses, I immediately knew that Calvin would help knock it out of the park.’

Scissor Sisters announce Magic Hour album

American Filthy/Gorgeous band spawned from New York gay scene also releasing single Only The Horses

The Scissor Sisters, famous for their song Filthy/Gorgeous, are to release a new album, called Magic Hour on 28 May, preceded by Calvin Harris produced single Only The Horses a week earlier.

The band was ‘spawned by the scuzzy, gay nightlife scene of New York’ and took their name from a sexual position between two women.
