Georganne LaPiere tells GSN: 'I am sad to admit that I feel I let Chaz down initially'

Georganne LaPiere, the younger sister of Cher and onetime star of the daytime soap General Hospital, says she initially had trouble understanding Chaz Bono's desire to transition from female to male.

'I hate to admit it, but between my macho firefighter husband and myself, he was the one who never had any problem with Chaz’s transition,' LaPiere tells Gay Star News. 'He was always able to see that Chaz was just really unhappy as "Chas” and that it took Chaz transitioning for him to become truly himself and a genuinely comfortable in his own skin human being.'

Transgender son of Cher and Sonny Bono had tipped the scales at 250 pounds

Chaz Bono is working on becoming nearly half the man he used to be.

The former Dancing With the Stars contestant, who was tipping the scales at 250 pounds last year, has embarked on a weight loss journey.

'I've been sticking to a really strict diet,' Bono, 43, says in the new issue of People magazine. 'It's not any type of starvation thing. I'm just cutting out a lot of stuff and eating primarily protein and vegetables and fruit.'

'I want it to be perfect'

Cher fans have already been waiting since 2002 for the diva to release an album of new material.

The singer, who has had number one records in six different decades dating back to the 1960s, took to Twitter over the weekend to explain why she is taking so long to finish her latest album which was originally scheduled to be out at Christmas.

'I Believe you’ll think it’s worth it!' she tweeted to her 1.3 million followers. 'Ya see, as I’ve been recording songwriters are coming up with amazing songs!'

Ellen DeGeneres has weighed in on the debate going on within the Boy Scouts of America organization which is considering lifting its ban in openly gay members and leaders.

But being Ellen, she did so by mixing humor with politics to make her point.

During the monologue on her daytime talk show Thursday (7 February), DeGeneres brought up the debate which has now been extended at least through May after the BSA national board delayed taking action this week.

The TV channel Logo snags Cher as a writer for an upcoming show

An icon is making a return to the small screen. Cher is working with the LGBT TV channel Logo to develop a pilot.

As reported by Huffington Post, the show is a period drama and is to be set in 1960s Hollywood. Now Cher is set to be one of the writers, but she could also be part of the cast.

The Believe singer ended months of waiting by streaming the first official full-length version of the single on her website.

The veteran singer tweeted she was angry after a short 17 second preview, and later a one minute version, of the song hit the internet yesterday (21 October).

'I'm upset about the leak.It's not the End of The World , but,Dont understand how Club in Michigan played min of it? It's not final mix!' Cher posted on Twitter.

Cher has been in the recording studio and has let fans know, via Twitter, that her first new album of original music in more than a decade will be out in December.

The 66-year-old gay icon told the first single from the untitled album will be released in October.

Cher regularly communicates with fans on Twitter but she still knows when to hold back when it comes to the business of her career which is still going strong after 47 years in the spotlight.
