Adam Shankman's special tree, Cheyenne Jackson snowed in, and Alex Newell with his dad

Adam Shankman may be the director of such splashy movies as Hairspray and Rock of Ages but one of his favorite Christmas memories is a simple one involving just him and the man in his life.

'My fiance (Frank Meli) and I, in our apartment in New York, put together just an incredibly beautiful tree,' Shankman told Gay Star News earlier this month.

'It was just by ourselves,' said the So You Think You Can Dance judge. 'We had already done the family thing and this was us by ourselves and that was a very special time for me.'

Some want snow, some want sunshine - all want family

Cheyenne Jackson has had plenty of snow on Christmas. So this year, the Tony Award nominated star is hoping for plenty of sunshine.

'I just moved to LA so I'll be spending it with my family in Laguna Beach,' Jackson tells Gay Star News. 'It will be my first time without snow - I'm excited. Me and my boyfriend are going to go out there.'

It's Jackson's first Christmas with new boyfriend, actor Jason Landau. He split from husband Monte Lapka this summer after less than two years of marriage and a decade together.

'To be kind of reduced to gossip fodder is obnoxious'

Actor Cheyenne Jackson is speaking out about getting divorced and trying to clear up rumors connected to his getting tattoos and growing a mustache.

Jackson and husband Monte Lapka were married in 2011 and had been together for 13 years.

'Sometimes I think I am a little naïve to think that people even care, but they do,' Jackson said today on SiriusXM OutQ's The Frank DeCaro Show in an interview transcribed by Towleroad.com.

US state has rejected a bill banning discrimination against gay people because of fears it would impinge on 'religious freedom'

Wyoming Senate has rejected a bill that would have banned discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

The standing vote was 13 for the bill and 17 opposed, with opponents claiming Senate File 131 would create a ‘protected class’ of employees and would result in lawsuits, as well as impinging on ‘religious freedom’.

'He isn't impressed by show business in general'

After 12 years as a couple, actor Cheyenne Jackson still gets a 'metaphysical boner' from husband Monte Lapka's wicked, dry sense of humor.

The Broadway and television star says one of the reasons his marriage to the successful physicist works so well is because Lapka is not an actor.
