Scott Norton snogs husband after winning bowling title in what may be one of first gay athlete kisses shown on TV channel

A gay kiss between a professional bowler and his husband is being hailed as one of the first times an out athlete has locked lips on live TV.

Scott Norton was filmed snogging his partner Craig Woodward by sports channel ESPN after winning the 2012 PBA Chameleon Championship in Las Vegas.

Although the event happened in November, the footage was only shown by the TV network on 30 December.

Online videos made to tackle the lack of knowledge of HIV among young people

A video series designed to educate young people on the basics of HIV has been launched by Terrence Higgins Trust.

The series, produced by digital health publisher Streaming Well, has been commissioned to tackle a perceived ignorance on HIV amongst young people.

The annual rate of new HIV cases in the UK has almost doubled in the past decade, whilst people’s knowledge of how it is transmitted has declined.

American Family Association attacks US news host after she challenged the homophobic group's claims that Nazi soldiers were gay

CNN anchor Carol Costello says she is a 'proud card-carrying member' of the 'gay gestapo' after a homophobic group launched a scathing attack on her.

Last week the US news host challenged the American Family Association's protest against the Southern Poverty Law Center's 'Mix it up at lunch day', which the organization says promotes a so-called 'gay agenda'.

Artist accuses fast food chain of chipping away gay rights after admitting painting a protest slogan on California restaurant

A gay artist has been arrested in California for vandalizing a Chick-fil-A restaurant with graffiti that read 'Tastes like hate'.

Police arrested Manuel Castro on suspicion of painting the slogan on the side of the fast food chain branch in Torrance on Wednesday (9 August).

The 30-year-old admitted to defacing the building last Friday (3 August) in an interview with the Huffington Post saying it was in protest at Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy’s public opposition to gay marriage.

An Atlanta couple has launched a petition drive to try and convince Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy to meet with their family for dinner.

The Atlanta-based fast food chain's stance against gay marriage has grown into a national debate in recent weeks that shows no sign of abating. The company has donated approximately $5 million in recent years to anti-gay groups.

'I'll even make chicken,' Marci Alt writes on her Change.org petition.

Eight gay-rights groups in Michigan join forces to educate 'straight allies about the extreme anti-equality government in this state'
 

Leaders from gay rights groups in Michigan will embark on a 100-day hunger strike.

Starting tomorrow 30 July, leaders from eight different gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender rights groups will go without food for 24 hours as part of their Hungry4Equality campaign.

Hungry4Equality is designed to raise awareness of specific issues facing the LGBT community, according to David Garcia, executive director of LGBT group Affirmations in Ferndale.

A leader from yet another major US city has blasted fast food chain Chick-fil-A for its stance against gay marriage and said the company's restaurants are not welcome.

Philadelphia Councilman Jim Kenney has written a letter blasting Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy who last week acknowledged the company's anti-gay policy.

Like many people I didn’t get tickets for the London 2012 Olympics. Living in an Olympic borough, where my family have lived for a few hundred years, and being an ex-athlete I volunteered to get into the Opening and Closing ceremonies. The thousands of us who actually made it through the selection process are sworn to secrecy. So to put it bluntly we are all pretty pissed off with the leakages about the event.

Then there are the helicopters, flying low enough to give us crew cuts, filming a work in process that is not ready yet for general consumption.

Anti-gay group objects to catalog photo of two women kissing

First it was JC Penney and Ellen DeGeneres. Then it was Toys R Us and Archie Comics.

Now the anti-gay group OneMillionMoms.com is turning its attention to Urban Outfitters because a photo in the retailer's April catalog features two women kissing.

The group is urging customers to throw the catalog away, to unsubscribe to the company's mailing list and to tell the company why.

Terrence Higgins Trust’s Back to Work scheme aims to get UK HIV-positive people back into full-time employment

UK sexual health charity Terrence Higgins Trust is inviting unemployed HIV-positive people to work in its offices to get back into a full-time job.

In the UK 25% of people living with HIV are unemployed, well above the national average of 8.4%.

But Terrence Higgins Trust (THT), Britain’s leading sexual health charity, says that advances in medicine make it more possible than ever for HIV-positive people to get back to work.

Anti-gay group moving on to other issues after unsuccessful boycott effort

The anti-gay group OneMillionMoms.com has abandoned its campaign to try and get Ellen DeGeneres fired from her job as JC Penney's new spokesperson because she is a lesbian.

In an interview with Christian news outlet OneNewsNow.com, One Million Moms Director Monica Cole says that 'other issues require her group's attention, so OMM is moving on.'
