London Olympics gets first out lesbian medalist

German Judith Arndt won silver in the cycling time trial, and will be wanting another in the women's team pursuit

German Judith Arndt has become the first lesbian athlete to win a medal at the London Olympic Games, and will fight for another today and tomorrow (3-4 August).

After coming 37th in the cycling road race, Arndt stormed to silver in the time trial held on Wednesday (1 August).

Speaking to Cycling News, she said: ‘I'm really happy with the silver medal.

Bikers plan 528 cycle ride to pride

Take a trip along California’s picturesque Pacific Coastal Highway from Los Angeles to San Francisco Pride

Intrepid British cyclists can discover California’s legendary Pacific Coastal Highway as they travel to San Francisco’s annual pride festival this June.

Participants will revel in idyllic views of canyons, mountains and vineyards as they wend their way from Los Angeles to one of the world’s greatest gay parties.

The 528 mile ride is cycled over eight days with cyclists averaging 66 miles a day.
