'It's been a roller coaster this past week but I'm happy where I'm at now'

Michael Sam summed it up best on Wednesday: 'It's been a roller coaster this past week.'

He had just passed a physical and was officially signed to the practice squad of the Dallas Cowboys. This came four days after he was cut by the St. Louis Rams and not made a part of their practice squad.

Then, no other NFL team signed Sam during the 24 hours that he was put on waivers and his only remaining hope was that a team would hire him for their practice squad which can be a stepping stone to making the active roster.

It has happened.
