The Wild Card series continues to bring new work to London's contemporary dance audience

One of the exciting projects currently being undertaken by Sadler's Wells theatre is their series of performances called Wild Card. This is a unique opportunity for young choreographers and dancers to create and present new work at Sadler's Wells – the home of contemporary dance in London.

Katye Coe is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher. The work that she has created as part of the Wild Card series is titled Preparation.

But who is his replacement?

Gay dancer Robin Windsor will not be returning to this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

The fan favorite, who was ruled out of the last series after undergoing back surgery, confirmed he will not appear on the upcoming BBC One series.

'Sadly I will not be returning to @bbcstrictly this year,' he tweeted. 'I have had a fantastic five years and wish everyone the best of luck!'

The BBC confirmed the professional dance line-up for the 13th series, but made no mention of Windsor's departure.

'I had a great time; an awesome experience'

Michael Sam, the first openly gay player drafted by an NFL team, was eliminated from ABC's Dancing With the Stars on Monday (6 April) evening.

Sam and partner Peta Murgatroyd received their highest marks yet from the judges for their week four dance but did not garner enough votes from the public to remain in contention.

'I had a great time; an awesome experience,' Sam said after the elimination. 'I want to thank Dancing With the Stars and everyone here who came out and supported.'

Gay Strictly Come Dancing Star Robin Windsor has said he would love the BBC show to feature a same-sex pairing.

But he doesn’t think it will happen any time soon because Britain is not yet ready.

That hasn’t stopped him starting his own scheme to get a new generation of gays and lesbians couples into ballroom.

His same-sex ballroom classes will see him dance with his boyfriend – X Factor star Marcus Collins – for the first time.

Football player and partner Peta Murgatroyd score 26 out of possible 40 dance the Cha-Cha to Uptown Funk

Michael Sam made his debut on ABC's Dancing With the Stars on Monday and scored in the middle of the pack of contenders.

While Sam's footwork was characterized as sloppy by the judges, he and partner Peta Murgatroyd scored 26 out of a possible 40 points for their Cha-Cha dance.

'That butt is a work of art,' openly gay judge Bruno Tonioli said to Sam after the dance.

Said judge Julianne Hough:'Your feet were a little sloppy but overall, you have a groove within you that is so fun to watch and infectious.'

Unable to compete in NFL last season, Sam will compete for Mirror Ball Trophy

Michael Sam has been chosen to appear on ABC's Dancing With the stars.

The first openly gay player ever drafted by a National Football League team will be among the celebrities competing when the season's roster is unveiled Tuesday (24 February) on ABC's Good Morning America, according to TMZ.

Sam made the cover of Sports Illustrated when he came out publicly just after completing his stellar college career at the University of Missouri.

Craig Revel Horwood – one of the celebrity judges of Britain’s hit TV show, Strictly Come Dancing – has spoken out about receiving ‘horrid’ online abuse after he revealed that he and his partner were open to the idea of adopting a child.

Revel Horwood, who turned 50 last week, shares a home in Hampshire with his partner, Damon Scott, 35.

Gay Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has opened up about his relationship, saying he was first attracted to his partner for a slightly odd reason.

No, it wasn't because he could rumba all night, it was because of his performing monkey.

'There's three of us in this relationship,' the BBC1 reality show judge told OK magazine.

'There is Damon [Scott], Bubbles [Damon's performing monkey] and me. What I first saw what he did, that attracted me as he is an artist.

Mean Girls star Jonathan Bennett broke two of his ribs while performing an interpretive dance of Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler.

He filmed the routine with two friends shortly after learning he would be on Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) but decided to keep it secret until the season ended.

In the video, Bennett can be seen descending a stairs then lies on a railing, only to fall several on his back with a loud thud.

TMZ reported that he broke two ribs and hurt his arm, which required two months in a sling.

Strictly Come Dancing will feature same-sex couples dancing together for the first time this weekend.

The BBC dancing competition show will feature the professional dancers doing a 'Cops and Robbers' routine, likely to appear on Sunday night's results show (23 November).

Gay pro Robin Windsor, who was forced to pull out of this year's competition due to a back injury, will return to dance alongside the other pros.

In It Takes Two, the companion BBC2 show, he revealed he would be dancing with someone a little different.

Gay Radio 1 DJ is the fifth to leave the British dancing competition

Scott Mills is the latest to leave Strictly Come Dancing.

The gay Radio 1 DJ and his professional partner Joanne Clifton were the fifth couple to leave the British dancing competition show tonight (2 November).

The couple performed an Addams Family-themed Foxtrot, scoring 21 points, on the show's Halloween special.

While they were repeatedly near the bottom of the leaderboard with the judges, the public saved them from the dance off week after week.

The Modern Family star impressed DeGeneres and her viewers with his Bollywood, salsa, modern and hip-hop moves.

'I guest-judge sometimes on So You Think You Can Dance, and my mom loves when I judge on the show,' he said

Ballroom dancer and current Celebrity Big Brother contestant James Jordan has surprised and disappointed LGBT viewers by speaking out against the idea of having same-sex couples on Strictly Come Dancing (the UK equivalent of Dancing with the Stars).

Jordan, 36, made a name for himself as one of the show’s professional dancers but left the show earlier this year. He is married to Ola Jordan, who remains a dancer for the BBC series.

Scott Mills will be joining Strictly Come Dancing.

The gay Radio 1 DJ is the latest celebrity to sign up for this year's series of the British reality TV competition dancing show.

Judge Craig Revel Horwood made the announcement live on Mills' show this morning (26 August).

The DJ said: 'I've kept this a secret for months and months.

There will be no openly LGBTI professional dancers on the BBC dancing show following Robin Windsor's departure

Gay dancer Robin Windsor will be forced to drop out of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing over a back injury.

The 34-year-old, currently dating X Factor star Marcus Collins, will be replaced with Dancing With The Stars’ Trent Whiddon in the British dancing show.

‘I'm devastated to have to pull out of Strictly this year due to a pre-existing back injury,' Windsor said.

‘It's been a really difficult decision, but I plan to focus 100% on my recovery and hope to be back in the ballroom as soon as possible, doing what I love best.

The world of competitive ballroom dancing has more to it than sequins and perfect scores, as a recent row in the UK has seen dancers demand to be allowed to dance in same-sex pairs.

The current legislation laid out by the British Dance Council (BDC) stipulates: ‘This Council recognizes a partnership to be one man and one lady in all adult amateur and professional competitions and championships unless otherwise stated.’

Gay Irish host says he is 'too lazy' to take on the BBC show that inspired Dancing With The Stars and many other versions around the world

Gay Irish TV presenter Graham Norton is turning down the job of hosting Strictly Come Dancing, of the most highly watched shows in the UK.

When Sir Bruce Forsyth announced he was retiring from his role as presenter, Norton was thought to be a strong contender for the role.

But if he was asked, he said he would be ‘too lazy’ to do it.

Norton told The Sun: ’I wouldn’t jump at the chance [to host Strictly].

‘I really enjoy the show but, it’s a very tough gig.’

Becomes one of the few LGBTI celebrity contestants to take part over 18 seasons

Diana Nyad is trading in her swimsuit for a ball gown.

The champion swimmer, who inspired many when she completed her historic swim from Cuba to Florida last summer, was introduced Tuesday (4 March) as one of the celebrity contestants on ABC's Dancing With the Stars.

The show begins its 18th season - there are two seasons each year - on 17 March.

It was the age of 64 and on her fifth attempt that Nyad swam 103 miles in 53 hours from Cuba to Florida.

She did so without a shark cage, flippers or a wetsuit which had never been done before.
