The Tennessee many gay Brits imagine is the one that is currently debating a bill aimed at outing school kids and making it illegal for teachers to discuss LGBT issues. But that’s not what the South is really about – and Tennessee boy Baylen Leonard is determined to prove it.

Dolly Parton says she has received death threats from the Ku Klux Klan over her 'Gay Day' at theme park Dollywood in Tennessee.

Rumors about the relationship between the gay icon and her female best friend Judy Ogle have followed her throughout her career.

'Judy and I have been best friends since we were like in the third and fourth grade,' she said in the interview with the Daily Mail.

Fortunately the country western singer feels secure enough in her 46-year long marriage with Carl Dean that she is able to laugh off such claims.

Dolly Parton is showing she's still going strong with her latest CD/DVD An Evening With Dolly just passing the 500,000 mark in sales to become the first gold record sold via Cracker Barrell Stores.

Parton is also featured in the documentary Hollywood to Dollywood about gay twins Gary Lane and Larry Lane who rent an RV and drive across the country to the Dollywood theme park during the park's 25th anniversary festivities to personally deliver a movie script they wrote for Parton.

 Queen Latifah  swats away coming out rumors

Rumors about the sexuality of singer and actress  Queen Latifah have circulated throughout her career. They were intensified by her 19 May performance at the Long Beach Gay Pride parade. She recently told the magazine Entertainment Weekly that showing up at a gay pride event should not be interpreted as her 'coming out.'

'That definitely wasn’t the case,' she said. 'I’ve never dealt with the question of my personal life in public. It’s just not gonna happen.'

The twins, both gay, have also been working on writing scripts - one that they wrote especially for their idol, Dolly Parton. They had met Parton briefly at several Hollywood events but had no inside connections to get her to read their script.
