Former co-host Joy Behar defends O'Donnell against blistering attack by nemesis Elisabeth Hasselbeck

Seven years after her fiery exit from The View, ABC officially confirmed today that Rosie O'Donnell is returning to the show - and the fireworks have already begun.

'ABC confirms Rosie O'Donnell returns as co-host of #TheView w/ moderator Whoopi Goldberg for Season 18,' the network tweeted without further comment.

O'Donnell also has not yet commented on the news but two of her former co-hosts, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Joy Behar are engaged in a war of words over her return.

Another TV star coming out may be nothing new, but when she has had to overcome all the extra challenges Roberts has, it merits applause

While I will continue to argue the African American community doesn’t have a patent on homophobia, it does, however, have a problem with it.

Black homophobia still has a deadly hold on African American life. And while I would like to say its oppressive grip only impacts lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people of African descent, in truth, black homophobia maims the entire community.

For example, to date more than a quarter of a million African Americans have died of AIDS – both straight and gay.

Don Lemon was watching last week's Golden Globe Award when Jodie Foster took to the stage to accept the Cecil B. Demille Lifetime Achievement Award and to, after decades of speculation, confirmed to the world that she is a lesbian.

Only Lemon, an openly gay anchor and reporter for CNN, at first wasn't all that sure of what Foster was doing.

Actor fires back via Twitter: 'Didn't realize you were a 12 year old girl'

You might not want to invite CNN anchor Don Lemon and actor Jonah Hill to the same party anytime soon.

It seems to two had a face-to-face encounter in a New York City hotel on Thursday (8 November) that was so unpleasant that it has resulted in a Twitter war.

'Said hi to Jonah in a hotel,' Lemon wrote in a tweet that kicked things off. 'Think he thought I was a bellman. Didn’t know his name til the bellman told me. A lesson to always be kind.'

In September, Thomas Roberts will become the first openly gay cable news anchor to get married beating the likes of Anderson Cooper, Rachel Maddow and Don Lemon to the alter.

Roberts, who anchors a morning newscast weekdays on MSNBC, will be marrying longtime partner Patrick Abner of Merck Pharmaceuticals’ HIV/AIDS division in Manhattan.
