The national event included a careers fair, panel discussions, performances, and a club night.

National Student Pride 2015 was held in central London on 28 February 2015.

2015 was the 10th National Student Pride event held and organizers have declared it as the biggest so far.

Thousands of students from universities across the UK attended the careers fair at the University of Westminster. There were also appearances from Oscar-winning Milk writer Dustin Lance Black, actress Alicya Eyo and singer Heather Peace. Also in attendance was TV boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins who revealed that EastEnders would soon be featuring a trans storyline.

Heather Peace and Alicya Eyo both admit they were scared to come out as they discuss LGBTI people in TV and film

Hollywood is packed with LGBTI people and the studios want to support them but agents and managers stop people coming out.

That’s according to Oscar-winning Milk writer – and Tom Daley’s boyfriend – Dustin Lance Black.

He was speaking at a Student Pride debate in central London today (28 February).

That also saw Alicya Eyo and Heather Peace talking about their struggle with coming out as actors and a teaser on trans representation on top British TV soap EastEnders.

The Oscar-winning Milk screenwriter’s appearance at the London event has sparked rumors that his boyfriend, Tom Daley, may also appear but even the organizers have no idea whether this will happen.

Soap veteran joining several other high profile names

Dominic Treadwell-Collins, the executive producer of EastEnders, is to speak at this year's Student Pride event.

Dominic will be speaking on LGBT representation in the media alongside Evan Davis, the openly gay TV presenter. He joins many other famous faces – such as columnist Owen Jones and screenwriter Dustin Lance Black – at this year's event.

Olympic diver and Oscar winner raising money for causes close to their hearts

Olympic diver Tom Daley and his Oscar winning boyfriend Dustin Lance Black announced on Thursday (6 November) that they are selling themselves.

But just for one night.

The Power couple are raffling off a double date - with them - in London as a way to raise money for two causes near and dear to their hearts: The Brain Tumour Charity and the Human Rights Campaign.

They explain in a video that Daley's dad died of a brain tumor and Black's gay older brother died from cancer before marriage equality came to the Southern state in which he lived.

A planned screening of the 2008 film Milk starring Sean Penn as slain San Francisco supervisor Harvey Milk has been canceled by Catholic University of America under a cloud of controversy.

The university claimed this week that the event tp be presented by College Democrats violated its policy because of the size of rainbow flags on fliers which also described it as a way to 'Kick Off LGBT Awareness Month!'

Such pro-LGBT statements apparently indicate advocating a position that is contrary to the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Olympic diver and Oscar winner take helicopter ride to romantic mountain top picnic

It was date night for Olympic diver Tom Daley and Oscar winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black.

A movie? Dinner at a restaurant?

Not a chance.

With Daley in charge of the planning, the couple took a helicopter ride to the top of a mountain where they then proceeded to have a romantic picnic.

Australian diver Matthew Mitcham, the only openly gay male athlete at the 2008 Summer Olympics, is not even the only out diver at this summer's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Also diving is Britain's Tom Daley who came out last year and has since gone public with his relationship with Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black.

Mitcham says he was 'as surprised as anyone else when Daley, 20, posted his coming out video on YouTube.
