The couple say they want to be able to call each other ‘husband’ instead of ‘partner’

Celebrity gay couple Elton John and David Furnish are planning to get married, following suit of gay couples all over England and Wales who can now legally marry.

British music icon John, 67, and partner Furnish, 51, have been civil partners since December 2005, entering their civil partnership on the day the act was passed.

The couple told Attitude magazine they plan to marry to further fly the flag for gay equality.

The Grammy-grabbing salsa queen and the Dirty Dancing choreographer will lead the 13 April parade, expected to attract nearly 100,000 attendees

Gloria Estefan and multi-hyphenate Kenny Ortega have been named Grand Marshals for this year’s Miami Beach Gay Pride.

Ortega, who’s choreographed the likes of Madonna, Michael Jackson and Elton John, will join the Miami resident Estefan in a vintage Rolls Royce to lead the parade of floats, charities and pride-goers.

This is the sixth annual Miami Beach Gay Pride, and over 80,000 fans and supporters are expected to turn out to join the festivities.

Gays told singer they received threats from vigilante groups who would ‘cure’ them of homosexuality by dousing them with urine or beating them up

Russian President Vladimir Putin described openly gay singer Elton John as 'an outstanding person [and] outstanding musician.'

Putin, interviewed by a small group of journalists over the weekend also said of the pop icon: 'Millions of our people sincerely love him despite his orientation.'

John, who performed concerts in Russia last month, has responded to Putin's remarks with a blistering indictment of the controversial anti-gay laws the leader has championed.

British pop legend has written an open letter to explain why he decided to go to Moscow and Kazan and speak out against the gay propaganda ban during his concerts

Elton John, the gay British pop legend, has done it. He has gone to Russia to perform, spoken out against the law and has appeared to come back unscathed.

While we do not know whether the promoter, like with Lady Gaga’s tour, will be fined, but for now it seems like the singer has done his job.

Following his performances on 6 and 7 December in Moscow and Kazan, he met with gay and HIV rights activists.

For his charity, the Elton John AIDS Foundation, the singer decided to write an open letter about his experiences.

'I am deeply saddened and shocked over the current legislation that is now in place against the LGBT community here in Russia. In my opinion, it is inhumane and it is isolating,' John said according to a transcript on Joe. My God.

Elton John has vowed to speak out on gay propaganda laws in Russia tonight (6 December).

The British singer will be playing two dates in Russia, in Moscow tonight and the Volga city of Kazan on Saturday.

He said while he will avoid being strongly critical of Putin, he has prepared something ‘meaningful’ to the LGBT community.

Dance and drama consultant for leading London college claimed teachers can turn pupils gay through indoctrination

One of London’s leading colleges has suspended its head of dance and drama after he was caught ranting about ‘gayism’.

The incident has also seen the principal go on a leave of absence.

In his 50 minute speech Dr Mark Walcott, of Newham College in East London, suggested having Elton John as a headteacher would turn children gay.

He said LGBTI people indoctrinate children, like the Ku Klux Klan or the Nazis.

He told colleagues he had investigated a school leading to the dismissal of a teacher because of his sexuality.

Russia may have banned gay propaganda, gay adoption, but now they’re going after the gay King of Pop.

A campaign has now been launched to ban Elton John from Russia, as a group believes his music, style and views could ‘influence’ children.

The Ural Parent Committee wish for the government to cancel a series of concerts that the ‘I’m Still Standing’ singer has planned throughout Russia at the end of the year.

Busy British actor chosen for lead role in musical spectacle following a lengthy search

The search for a big screen Elton John is over.

British actor Tom Hardy has been chosen to play the gay pop icon in the film Rocketman set to begin production next fall, the film's producers announced today (23 October).

The musical spectacle is to be directed by Michael Gracey from an original screenplay by Lee Hall. It has the cooperation of John who will re-record many of his classic hits for his life story.

Any Given Tuesday shines light on homeless and abandoned youth in LA

Of the thousands of kids who sleep on the streets of Los Angeles - the number one destination for homeless and abandoned youth in the US -  a whopping 40% are LGBT boys and girls.

The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center is the only organization in Los Angeles dedicated to providing these kids with food, clothing, medical care and a warm bed.

They offer these young people, kicked out by their parents for being LGBT, the help they need to get off the streets and make it on their own.

US rapper Eminem has no problem calling people ‘gay-looking boy’ and ‘faggot’ in his quickly-rapped new song Rap God.
