Sir Elton John and REM frontman Michael Stipe have called on Georgia's department of corrections to provide hormone therapy and safety to transgender women housed in male prisons.

The openly gay singer and the bisexual Georgia native issued a joint statement Sunday (7 April), a few days after the US Justice Department called the state’s denial of hormone therapy to trans inmates a 'cruel and unusual punishment.'

Elton John, Ellen DeGeneres and Ricky Martin are all boycotting Dolce and Gabbana after the designers said they only believe in the 'traditional family' and children born of IVF and gay parents are 'synthetic'.

But Zoe Saldana, who made her name in films like Star Trek, Avatar and Guardians of the Galaxy, will not be joining that list.

'That would be the stupidest thing, if it affected my fashion choice,' Saldana told E! News.

Fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have backtracked after calling IVF babies 'synthetic children.'

Their comments led to a social media spat with Elton John who is calling for a boycott of their brand.

Gabbana said he did support IVF and that his business partner and former lover had chosen 'the wrong words.'

'We love gay couple. We love gay adoption. We love everything,' he told CNN on Wednesday (18 March).

The editorial director of Dolce and Gabbana's magazine has resigned over controversial comments the designers made about gay parenting.

Earlier this week, the fashion duo said they opposed gay adoption, 'synthetic children' and non-traditional families. Their remarks angered celebrities such as Elton John, who is leading a boycott of the brand.

And now Giuliano Federico has left Swide.com after seven years at the magazine.

Elton John has admitted to carrying a Dolce and Gabbana after leading a boycott of the gay fashion duo's brand.

The Italian designers had made offensive comments about children of same-sex and IVF couples, branding them 'synthetic'.

Fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana both expressed desire to have kids years before their recent attack on 'sythetic children.' 

Earlier this week, the former lovers said they opposed gay adoption, IVF and non-traditional families. which triggered a celebrity boycott of their brand led by Elton John. 

But their remarks seem hypocritical in light of comments made back in 2006.

Shortly after the duo broke up, Gabbana said it was his 'dream' to have a baby through artificial insemination.

The gay fashion duo said the only family they believed in was a 'traditional' one, with a mother and a father.

This prompted a huge backlash, led by Elton John and supported by numerous celebrities.

The Peter Tatchell Foundation and LGBT Out and Proud Diamond Group believes Dolce and Gabbana are 'siding' with the Vatican.

The 41-year friendship between Elton John and Billie Jean King continues to thrive and to raise funds in the fight against AIDS.

Their annual event WTT Smash Hits (WTT stands for World Team Tennis which was founded by King) was held over the weekend in London and raised more than $1 million dollars for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

It was only the second time in the event's history that Smash Hits surpassed $1 million. It has now raised more the $13 million to support HIV and AIDS prevention and awareness programs since the first event in 1993.

The British couple are expecting the three children between January and July next year

In what’s believed to be a world first, a British gay couple are soon to become dads to three babies born to three separate surrogate moms – all of whom are pregnant at the same time.

The babies will be born within seven months of one another.

Surrey-based husbands Daryl Lee, 41, and Luke Harris, 50, met online in 1999. They had a civil partnership ceremony in 2012.
