In Behind the Candelabra, Rob Lowe’s famous good looks are transformed as he stars as Liberace’s plastic surgeon 

Perfectly chiselled Hollywood actor Rob Lowe says he looks like ‘a transgendered Bee Gee’ in the Liberace film Behind the Candelabra.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the American TV and film star has described his transformation from screen heartthrob to an androgynous looking cat with a serious disposition for cosmetic enhancement.

The Enchantress Returns will be released in early August

Chris Colfer has revealed that the title of his second The Land of Stories novel will be The Enchantress Returns.

The openly gay star, who plays the gay character of Kurt Hummel on Glee, is writing a follow-up to his best seller The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell. It will be released 6 August, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The Enchantress in the title is an evil character who cursed Sleeping Beauty.

In 1975, she says 'it probably would have been tsunami-like'

It was in 1997 that Ellen DeGeneres caused a national wave of publicity and debate when she was featured on the cover of TIME magazine with this headline: 'Yep, I'm Gay.'

Twenty-two years earlier, that cover could have been Lily Tomlin's.

Now 73, one of the stars of new movie Admission a cast member of the ABC sitcom Malibu Country, Tomlin did not publicly discuss being a lesbian until 2001 although it had long been an open secret.

'TIME magazine offered me the cover in 1975 if I would come out,' Tomlin tells Entertainment Weekly.

Modern Family, American Horror Story among winners in TV categories

The Gay and Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association on Wednesday (16 January) announced the winners of the group's annual Dorian Awards which honor the best in film and television of 2012.

Argo, which has gained Oscar momentum after Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award wins, was voted Film of the Year by GALECA. Oscar front-runners Daniel Day-Lewis and Anne Hathaway won the Performance of the Year prizes for Lincoln and Les Miserables, respectively.

Audiences at Barbra Streisand's recently-concluded Back to Brooklyn concert tour were treated to something that had never been by the public before: a duet between Streisand and her son, Jason Gould.

Gould, 45, joined his mother on How Deep Is the Ocean and revealed to the world an impressive singing voice that he had previously not shared with the public.

Richard Gere says he took his career defining role as a male escort in American Gigolo because of the movie's gay subtext.

The Hollywood superstar became a pin-up with both women and gay men after playing hustler Julian in the 1980 thriller, written and directed by Paul Schrader.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 63-year-old actor says he was only given a day to decide whether he wanted to take the part which involved full frontal nudity.

 Queen Latifah  swats away coming out rumors

Rumors about the sexuality of singer and actress  Queen Latifah have circulated throughout her career. They were intensified by her 19 May performance at the Long Beach Gay Pride parade. She recently told the magazine Entertainment Weekly that showing up at a gay pride event should not be interpreted as her 'coming out.'

'That definitely wasn’t the case,' she said. 'I’ve never dealt with the question of my personal life in public. It’s just not gonna happen.'

Last week's winter finale of Glee tackled the subject of gay teen suicide when a closeted football player is outed then bullied and tries to kill himself.

The character of Dave Karofsky (played by Max Adler) is a former bully himself who channeled his own self-loathing by tormenting one of the school's most openly gay students, Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer). It is Kurt who is there for Karofsky and when he visits his former bully in the hospital, helps him imagine his future.

Former Firefly and Playboy Club star says he had spent the last 14 years of his career fearful that being gay would destroy his career

When Sean Maher was cast as a closeted gay man in the since-canceled NBC drama The Playboy Club, the 36-year-old actor decided that off-screen at least, he was going to bust out of that closet.

Maher, best known for his role on the sci-fi series Firefly and its follow-up feature film Serenity, confirmed that he is gay during an interview with Entertainment Weekly in late September.
