Broadway legend says of two-time Olympic figure skater: 'Anything but Johnny Weir and his divorce'

Johnny Weir's highly-public on-again off-again divorce from husband Victor Voronov has apparently gotten on Harvey Fierstein last nerve.

When the multiple Tony winner, currently on Broadway in Casa Valentina, was asked by Huffington Post about issues he is speaking out these days he replied: 'Anything but Johnny Weir. Leave me alone with that faggot. Anything but Johnny Weir and his divorce.'

Tweets Weir: 'Please respect our privacy and integrity at this time'

Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir took to Twitter today to announce that he and husband Victor Voronov are back together after what had been a very ugly and very public split.

'My husband and I have happily reconciled,' Weir tweeted. 'Please respect our privacy and integrity at this time.'

The news comes just eight days after an interview with Voronov aired on the syndicated US show Inside Edition during which he accused Weir of a host of things from biting him marrying him to provide fodder for a reality show.

In new allegation, Victor Voronov blames it all on Weir's 'meddling' mother

A day after TMZ reported a reconciliation between Johnny Weir and Victor Voronov, the figure skater's estranged husband is saying they are still split up.

'The divorce is 100 percent still happening,' Voronov tells US Weekly.

Then he adds an allegation that had not previously been hurled: 'Johnny's meddling mother was definitely the source of the breakdown of our marriage.'

The couple, married in December 2011, were reported to have reconciled and drawn up a lengthy list 'post-nup' agreement that includes such things as STD tests every six months and a no sexting rule, according to TMZ.

Victor Voronov details allegations in court papers seeking financial support and return of family dog

Former Olympic ice skater Johnny Weir told TMZ cameras in New York City earlier today that his split from hubby Victor Voronov is a private matter.

Someone forgot to tell that to Voronov.

The law school graduate alleges in legal documents that Weir committed adultery multiple times and claims his husband forced him out of the closet as he struggled with his sexuality.

He is also claiming Weir only married him in December 2011 to provide a compelling story line for the three-time US champion's reality television show.

Johnny Weir took to Twitter on Wednesday (19 March) to announce that he and husband Victor Voronov are breaking up after just over two years of marriage.

'It is with great sadness that I announce that my husband and I are no longer together. My heart hurts, and I wish him well,' Weir tweeted to his more than 205,000 followers.

The couple were married in December 2011.

There were recent signs of trouble in the union.

Johnny Weir talked figure skating at the Olympics and fashion at the Oscars.

One thing he wasn't talking about was his date with a judge stemming from a police report husband Victor Voronov filed accusing Weir of biting him during a domestic dispute.

The couple, who married in December 2011, appeared in Lyndhurst Municipal Court in New Jersey this week (4 March) and asked a judge to dismiss the case, according to RadarOnline.

Gay figure skater says he wouldn't boycott any Olympics even if they were in North Korea

Johnny Weir says he has come under much 'hate and scutiny' due to publicly speaking out against boycotting the Olympics in Sochi because of Russia's anti-gay laws.

"I've been called so many names and been hated on so many fronts, and been called a Russian spy and all of these wild and outlandish things,' the openly gay figure skater tells Reuters. 'I definitely feel in the crossfire.'

Brian Bointano says he decided 'in a matter of 10 hours' to come out publicly last month after 25 years in the public eye.

Boitano had been chosen by President Barack Obama to be a part of the official US delegation to the Olympics in Sochi and he knew it was probably time to speak up.

Gay athlete under fire for taking job with NBC Sports for Olympics in Sochi

Johnny Weir referred to a group of LGBTI activists protesting him as 'idiots' at a speaking event at Barnard College on Monday (2 December) evening.

He apologized today in a newspaper column acknowledging the he has 'put my foot in my mouth.'

'My stance of being pro-athlete before being pro-gay has ruffled so many feathers and it becomes difficult to speak publicly because of this fight,' he wrote in a column today in the Falls Church News-Press.

US performer has announced he will still travel to Sochi as a figure skating analyst for NBC

Gay ice skater Johnny Weir has announced his retirement today (23 October).

Speaking on the NBC’s Today show, he announced he had officially retired from competitive skating and will not participate in the Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.

‘I got old,’ the 29-year-old offered as an explanation.

But he will also be joining NBC as an ‘expert figure skating analyst’ – commentating on the Winter Games.

When asked about Weir supporting the Olympics in the light of Russia’s gay propaganda laws, he said he will still speak out and risk arrest.

Outspoken opponent of a boycott does not sign up for national championships

Gay US figure skater Johnny Weir won 't be competing in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

The Associated Press reports that Weir, a two-time Olympian, did not register to try and qualify for the national championship where the US Olympic team will be selected.

The nationals begin on 9 January in Boston and Weir would have had to perform well in them to qualify for a third Olympics. He finished sixth at the 2010 games in Vancouver.

Johnny Weir wants to compete in his third Olympics come February and doesn't want to hear anything about a boycott to protest Russia's anti-gay laws.

'I am directly against a boycott of any kind,' Weir tells ESPN 2's Keith Olbermann. 'While many people can sit on their couch at home and say "Oh, we shouldn't go to Russia because it's bad ...  staying away is something I think is the worst possible thing we can do.'

Although Weir is openly gay, the three-time US national champion in men's figure skating says he is an athlete first.
